St. Mildred L. P. S is situated in the Taluk of Kottarakara at Thrikkannapuram in the kummil village of kollam district. This school is about a century old and is believed to have built in the year 1917, despite the lack of authentic documents. The Nithya Sahaya Matha Church, Thrikkanapuram stands in front of the school. The school is in the festive mood of embracing its centenary of jubilation. Presumably, the bishop emeritus of Quilon, Most Reverent Benziger might have taken over the charge of this school, which had been an "Asham pallikoodam". There lacks any sort of legal documents .It is said that a stable of the Britishers remained at this place while the historically renowned Kadaykal Revolution was going on. In 1960 this school gained the status of an aided school and later it was upgraded as a U. P school. The Fifty year old roof was modified by replacing the tiles with sheets in the academic year 2014-15. The classrooms are in a dilapidated condition. The classes range from the pre- primary up to the seventh standard. Though the aided section is in an enervated state, this school remains as strength of pride in the minds of people by bearing the perennial memories of a century in the soil of Thrikkannapuram without any substantial decrease in the number of students.
