The Venmani Village spans across the South East side of the Village of Venmani as well as the panchayath of Venmani in the Taluk of Chengannur at the district of Alappuzha.
On the Southern part of the Venmani Panchayath, the renowned Achankovil River flows around the village. Two Kilometres on the Northern side, away from the Northern bank of the river of Achankovil, stands the ancient as well as historically well acclaimed St. Mary's Orthodocx Church, two kilometres away on the Southern part of Kalyathra junction, Venmani. In the Malayalam Era in between 1085 and 1115 (1910-1930), an ancient Christian family called “Thachappilly” founded a school named Thachappally LPS, with a view to elevate the cultural, educational and the material status of the native people

It was Mr. C. O Umman ( Kutty Sir) who had commenced the school. Initially, the school activities were carried out at the place where the Thachappally family is situated currently, i.e. at their own courtyard. Later a property was bought and the infrastructure was built (the former building) as per the demand of those times. Thus, it expanded and rejuvenated the activities of the school. Mr. C. O. Umman ( Kutty sir), who had no children, sold the school to the diocese of Quilon for Rs. 2,500.
The diocese of Punalur took the complete hegemony over the school by virtue of the bifurcation of the diocese of Quilon. In 2017, May 31st, the school was demolished to be rebuilt at the existing place. The building process of the new infrastructure is in progress. Temperorily, the school activities have been set up in a nearby house.
The school was employed as the substation of Charummodu and the Holy Mass was offered there before the St. Joseph Latin Catholic Church had been built for the faithful in Venmani.
This school remains in the 4.70 acres of the Venmani Village; having the block no 14 and the resurvey no 256/22 (the old survey no was 253/21).
