Venmony Thazham L P S is located at the Taluk of Chengannoor in the first ward of Venmani panchayath on the verge of Kalyathra- Kodukulanji road in Uliyanthara. Geologically, this locality possesses a lot of features. The picturesque place that holds mountains on eastern side and paddy fields on western side had hardly any schools for its children within the perimetre of three and half kilometre. At that time, Mr. Chacko Pulipravettathu founded a school and started its functioning in his own property for bestowing primary education for his native people.

The very first Headmaster of this school was Mr. P. C Chacko. Mr. Vasupilla Puthen Veedu, Mr. P. C. Thomas, Mr. T. C Daniel Chakkala thekkethil and Mrs Sosamma Chacko had adorned the seat of HM respectively in this school. The meticulous inspection of the records asserts that there were five teachers and classes had been up to the fifth grade. Eventually, the class was reduced up to the fourth grade.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Jerome. M. Fernandez, the bishop of Quilon bought and continued the functioning of the school incessantly. Later, Mr. Mathew Puthukudiyil, a native of Mavelikkara( Kunnam), Mr. Idikkula and Mr.krishna panicker had assumed the headmastership. In 1973, Mr. John and from 1973, Mr. Jimy Cruze rendered their priceless services for the school. At the initial years, there were about fifty students in a class. Gradually, the school witnessed a mind harrowing tendency to diminish the number of students.

The school was transferred under the hegemony of the Diocese of Punalur with the bifurcation of the Quilon Diocese. In 1984-85, Mr. Balakrishnan was the HM of this school and he issued TCs for the entire students during summer vacation. There upon, the functioning of the school was halted for a while but it was reinstated with the salient efforts of the natives as well as the social activists, who were the well wishers of the school. Followingly, Mrs. K. Ramaniyamma served as the Headmistress till 1995 and thereafter Mrs. Graceamma Sebastian held the office of Headmistress until 2005. Presently, Mrs. A. Mercikutty is the headmistress who helms the activities of the school and is lively engaged in the learning progress of the students
