St. Brocard's L. P. S is situated at the Southof the Enadimangalam panchayath in the district of Pathanamthitta; close by St. Anne's Church on the North of 26 Mile KP road. At the beginning of the 20 th century, there were hardly any educational institutions in this area of 26 Mile, the place which was widely known as Kurumpakara.
At that time several missionaries and pastors fled to this place through Kayamkulam-Kattanam and inhabited at this locality. They strived hard for the social and cultural advancement of the people. The most prominent figure among them was Brocard. Subsequently, a church was built and named after the saint Anne. The church was under the jurisdiction of the Quilon diocese at that time. It was an age, in which the caste system was very rigorous, but the church took initiative to impart knowledge for the common people, irrespective of caste or creed. It urged the need for a school at this locality and thus, the Diocese started a primary school named St. Brocard's L. P. S in the year 1925. Later, when the east mountain part of Quilon Diocese was partitioned to form the Diocese of Punalur, St. Brocard's L.P.S, came under the jurisdiction of Punalur Corporate Management.
Approximately, this school has imparted knowledge for numerous students of five generations. It was the one and only public school of this locality. Presently, about fifty students study both in the pre primary and primary sections.
For the smooth functioning of the school, screens have been deployed to facilitate the classes, ranging from the pre primary up to the fourth standard. Three LPSA posts and an HM post are allowed here, in which only the HM post as well as the other two posts existnow. The posting for the remaining LPSA hasnot yet been carried out, though the shifting system came to an end.
The school ensures sufficient drinking water facility along with separate toilets and urinals for both girls and boys. The students are also privileged to have a vast ground for their recreation and games. This school owns a computer granted by the honourable MLA, Mr. Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan from his MLA fund. It has also not failed to incorporate the internet facility for the students to equip them to make use of the immense possibilitiesof the cyber world. Thus the school provides a very conducive learning atmosphere for the students. The Almighty God incessantly showers His infinite blessings for the progressand growth of this school.
